Dr. Edward LUCY

Dear Jody, Nicole, and Brian,
My heart goes out to you and your families. I was fortunate to have Ed as a professor in the Specialist program at GSU and even more fortunate to have him as a friend. He was a dynamo and so very enjoyable to be around and always helpful. He led a life as active and fulfilling as anyone I have ever known and was intensely devoted to all of you. He will be missed by many.

Ed Lucy was a good friend and an excellent doctoral supervisor. I would not have my Ph.D. today if he had not been supportive and encouraging. He touched many lives in his career at GSU, and left memorable publications and ideas for all of us to remember. I didn't know he had been in the Marine Corps, but, I'm not surprised. He was an exemplar in many ways.

It was always a pleasure to work with Dr. Lucy at Georgia State University, in the first instance as a graduate student in the College of Education in the 1980s. My condolences to his family and friends.
