Chambers Funeral Homes - Cleveland Obituary

Edward Michael Dunn, age 65, passed away peacefully at home on March 11, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to so many, who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Ed was born on March 27, 1958 in Cleveland, Ohio where he attended St. Mel’s Grade School, St. Edward High School and John Marshall High School. He became a highly sought after wallpaper hanger and decorator and was loved deeply by so many of his loyal clients.

In his free time, Ed enjoyed driving his 57 Chevy or Harley Davidson around West Park, cruising Lake Erie in his Wellcraft Martinique, and watching Cleveland Sports, especially if he was watching with his friends and family.

But more than anything, Ed was a devoted husband and father. He loved nothing more than spending time with his wife Karen, daughter Janine, and Granddaughter, Gabriella.

Ed is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Karen (nee Reader) Dunn, his daughter Janine (Dunn) Hunt, son in law Nathan Hunt, his granddaughter, Gabriella Hunt, and scrappy dog, Marty. Ed was also survived by his sister Colleen (Richard) Grove, Kevin (Tina) Dunn, Timothy (Paula) Dunn, Maura (Edward) Prokop, Peggy Dunn Conway, Patrick (Carol) Dunn, Aunt Jeannette Epley, and so many loving nieces and nephews. He loved his Kettel family, childhood friends, golfing buddies, car guys, and cottage friends as family as well.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Kay Dunn, father, Vincent Dunn and uncle, Edward Nemeth.

We will be celebrating the life of Ed with a wake on FRIDAY, March 15, 2024 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 4401 W 215th St, Fairview Park, OH 44126 from 4:30pm-8:00pm. A service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 12:00pm at Messiah Lutheran Church with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Messiah Lutheran Church to thank them for their generosity and guidance during this difficult time. https://www.messiahchurchfairview.org/GiveMoney1.aspx

Not sure what to say?

My condolences to the Dunn family, I have known Ed for many years, he was my brothers friend and over the years he became my friend. Whenever I would see him he had a hug and a smile waiting for me and I think that's what I'll miss the most. I am so sorry for your loss, I will always remember him as a stand up guy and that the last four digits of his phone number spelled out the word "bike" and I always thought that was so cool.

Karen and family, my condolences to you. Eddie was a great friend in grade school and so much fun to be around.

SO SORRY TO HEAR OF ED PASSING. TONI AND I HAVE KNOWN ED AND THE ENTIRE DUNN FAMILY FOR OVER 50 YEARS. REST IN PEACE. YOU FOUGHT THE GOOD FIGHT. OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU AND THE DUNN FAMILY.

One of the greatest guys I have ever met. I will not soon forget Eddie, and his wonderful family. Safe Home Ed.

Ed has always been and will always be my best friend.

My Deepest Condolences to the Entire Dunn Family. Eddy was a great friend growing up in the old neighborhood.
