Ed was a colleague and a friend. Though we often went months, and lately a year without contact, each time we met the conversation started as though no time had passed. That was his gift. Asking about my own family and job before I had a chance to ask about his own. He was a loving man and we will miss him.

Sending my condolences to the entire family. The news of your great loss brought sadness that this world lost a fabulous individual. Known to many back in the day at Broadway QFC as Eddie Mac where I shared a lot of laughs and watched him eye a special someone in the Bakery. Deanna there are no words. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

So very sorry to hear of Ed's sudden passing - such sad news. Love & comfort to everyone during this time. It was great to re-connect with Ed during the MacMillan gathering a few years ago. I so appreciated his intelligence, presence, sense of humor, & great household, and felt so grateful for his welcoming energy. Very inspiring at the time, and now as well. Much comfort to family & friends who will greatly miss him.

As others have mentioned, Ed was a great mentor in sports. I first met Ed while he was coaching youth baseball in Edmonds including his son Gavin, and mine Tony. He often played basketball with Gavin at the local school, and once invited my kids to shoot some hoops. Not only did Ed have the patience for the kids, he knew how to make it fun! My daughter, Jade, at age 14, still plays team basketball. Our thanks to Ed for taking time to make a difference in the world. We will never forget and...
