I had Professor Margolies about 43 years ago for 19th century American Literature. He had such great insight into the issues of that era and how it is reflected in the literature. We read all the great writers Emerson Thoreau Melville Conrad Hawthorne. I never thought about how important the Sea is in American Lit and its history. My sympathy to the Margolies Family. You loved on was a COOL guy
