Not sure what to say?

I just found out 2 days ago that Peter has died. Been traveling back through memory lane since then. What a loss of a great human. I was 19 when I met Peter and his dog, Zig, in Ocean Beach in 1970. So much charisma and no macho. I liked that. He had recently gotten out of the navy and working hard to make up for lost time. So good times were in order. And that's what we had. I had left home in Sacramento for better weather, a beach, and seeking adventure with my girlfriend Kim. We...

My Dear Bestie Peter, It has been two years since you left us, I miss you each and everyday, Your Sister Mary and I talked on the anniversary of your passing, we love to share stories of you, you the big brother, Miss your humor, your wonderful creative spirit, your kind and nonjudgmental soul. I forever will miss you. Until we meet again,Love Love and more Love

Peter was a man of many talents who gave to everyone. I met him because I knew his grandmother when she lived in Portola Valley. He had her hospitality and many artistic qualities. He is a great loss to all.

He was such a humble, tireless and great person. With a perfect mixture of gravitas and lightness. I remember during the time when I was hosting on Charlie Phillips' Voices from the Village, Peter walked up to me and handed me some ties. No discussion of wardrobe. I took it graciously, as it was offered. Will be sorely missed.

Hey Peter, you are awesome and hilarious! Thank you for being you!

Our Condolences to Peter's sisters and to the McGettigan Families of San Francisco.
I was introduced to Peter some Forty years ago, through mutual friends, at a holiday party he hosted at his home in Capitola. I still remember the beautiful aroma of bay laurel garlanding. I also recall meeting Peter's charming Mother there at a later event. Even my sister-in-law spoke of Peter from their first meeting in the 1970's, when he worked at her families' Soquel winery (Bargetto). Always ready for...

Peter Downtown on Halloween..Santa Cruz will be missing a great Friend

Wow! I am so sorry to learn of Peter's death. He was a faithful guest of Hoffman's and so much more. I loved his stories and his sense of humor and especially his Halloween costumes. He was so kind to our family as well. He was one of the people I had hoped to continue to be friends with once Hoffman's closed. He was a one in a million. He will be missed in Santa Cruz.
