Edward D. McKeever

Edward D. McKeever, 87, of Hamilton, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at RWJ University Hospital of Hamilton. "Big Ed" was a lifelong resident of the Trenton area. He graduated from Trenton Catholic High School in 1942. Ed served in the US Navy during WWII, RON 11 PT Boat # 180, and was a member of the PT Boaters Association. A decorated Veteran, Ed was written up in two history books about the Navy for saving his entire crew. He attended Rider College after the service where he played football. Ed retired as an iron worker, Local #68, and was the founder/former owner of Root Away Sewer Service. He was a member of St. Gregory the Great RC Church, the Knights of Columbus Bordentown Council #570 and a former Grand Knight and was also a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. Edward was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. He was predeceased by his parents, James and Mary Agnes (Ross) McKeever, his wife, Eileen J. (Brophy) McKeever and siblings, Mary P'Simer, Anne, Agnes Lynn, Catherine, Elizabeth, James, David, Joseph and John (Tiny) McKeever. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jeanine and Albert Verdel; son and daughter-in-law, E. Daniel and Betsy McKeever; four grandchildren, Timothy and Kevin McKeever and Daniel and Bridget Verdel; two brothers, Richard and Donald McKeever; two aunts, Louise Guhl and Mary "Pete" Bixby; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 8:30am at Saul Colonial Home 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9:30am at St. Gregory the Great RC Church, 4620 Nottingham Way, Hamilton, NJ 08690. Entombment will follow at St. Mary's Mausoleum, Hamilton, NJ. Family and friends may call from 6-8pm on Friday at the Colonial Home. Memorial contribution's can be made to Battleship Cove, P.O.
