Not sure what to say?

Before I went to Ireland for a conference on Alasdair MacIntyre (I am a philosophy professor at GVSU) in 2009, Eddy told me he had lost his green marble rosary from Connemara. I went to Connemara and was able to buy for him a replacement, which I gave him after returning one day at Bill's Restaurant, where he often stopped to check in with friends before checking in with other friends at Van's Bakery on Fulton. He promised me that I would get intercessory prayer everyday from him as he said...

Happy Birthday, Dad. It is still so hard to believe you are not here celebrating your 98th birthday and wearing the "green." I love and miss you every day. Love from your daughter, Sue.

I wanted to share that My Father, Dr. Bernard Grey(Greskowiak) was a class- mate of Ed's at CC and a Life long friend. I knew Ed since I was a small Boy and always admired his kind demeanor. Be thankful you have had him in your life for so many wonderful years. We lost my father in 1974(He was 56 years old)39 years ago. God Bless to the family.

THE 1951 CATHOLIC CENTRAL CITY AND STATE CHAMPS WERE LUCKY TO HAVE ED TRAVEL WITH US AND ALWAYS GIVE US SPECIAL SUPPORT. WE NAMED HIM"THE TEAM MAN"
AND PUT HIM IN THE SHOWER WHEN WE DEFEATED DETROIT CC 51-0. MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH ALL THE FAMILY.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families. He was a wonderful and humorous man. Kept you on your toes.

Great to have known you Ed. Will miss you at St Mary's noon Mass and at St Alphonsus. With whom do I talk dancing, philosophy, things Irish, and Notre Dame recruiting now? Glad I was able to bring you back that rosary from Connemara.

Sue, I am so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I last spoke to Eddie in January as my Dad lay dying. He called us to see how Dad and the family were doing. That was so typical of him: ALWAYS thinking of someone else. Eddie was an inspiration and brightened our lives! Our condolences to the family.

Dear Judy, Susan and families, Many Wednesday mornings in the past several years, Ed was our Reader and Server for Mass at Sanctuary St. Mary's. He was such a faithful Catholic. We will miss him also. My sympathy to you. Carol Grant Terhaar (organist)
