One of my fondest memories of Mr. Merkli was of him insisting Nancy, Susan and I go to a casting call in D.C for a movie called "Endless Love". He thought we were stars already and always had an encouraging word and could make us laugh. I felt like a movie star riding around in that huge white Lincoln of his and it reminded me of the times I spent with my own father in his Cadillac.
