Edward L. Mickiewicz March 1, 1945 - Sept. 10, 2015 CASSOPOLIS - Edward L. Mickiewicz, age 70, of Cassopolis, died peacefully on Thursday, September 10, 2015, in Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Indiana. Ed was born March 1, 1945, in Oak Park, Illinois, to Leon and Jacqueline (Ferrier) Mickiewicz. He married spouse, Penny Anne Stamp, on July 1, 1967, in Dowagiac, Michigan. She survives. His parents preceded him in death. Ed liked to hunt and fish and spend time at his cabin in the north woods. He will be missed by his three four-legged friends, Whiskey, Marshall and Shelby. He was an avid Detroit Tiger fan, even when they were losing. Ed will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Penny (Stamp) Mickiewicz of Cassopolis; two sons, Joseph (Lynn) Mickiewicz of Niles and David Mickiewicz of Cassopolis; two grandsons, Jordon Mickiewicz and Ty Mickiewicz; one sister, Vicki (Larry) Newman of South Bend; one brother, Bryan (Gregory Beelaert) Barr of South Bend; one niece, Traci Newman of South Bend; one great- nephew, Sammy Ladyga; and lifelong friends, Dave and Mary Hand of Thorp, Wisconsin. Family and friends will gather for a memorial service at a date and time to be announced. The family prefers contributions be made in Ed's memory to Cass County Cancer Service, Post Office Box 676, Edwards-burg, Michigan 49112.
