Edward J. Simon, 85 Ed was born October 8, 1932 in Owatonna, MN the son of Sidney and Mary (Schiller) Simon. He grew up on the family farm in Summit Township. He attended country school and later attended Blooming Prairie High school, graduating in 1950. After high school, Ed continued to work alongside his father at the family farm. He was united in marriage to Eilyne Olinger on June 26, 1954 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church at Litomysl. The couple made their home on a farm south of Owatonna. Their union brought seven children. Ed continued to farm until the early 90's. After this he worked for Central Valley Co-Op and was a grave digger for Sacred Heart and Litomysl Cemeteries for 26 years. He was a member of several organizations including: Eagles Club, Blooming Prairie Knights of Columbus, and Holy Trinity Men's Club. He also served as a member of the Cemetery Board at Litomysl Ed is survived by his wife of 63 years, Eilyne; his children, Roxanne (Verlin) Nelson, Michael (Kim) Simon, Ronda (Michael) Fisher, Renee (Terry) Kubat, Rachelle Johnson, Ranita (Judd) Bang and Rosalinda (Dave) Hollister, all of Owatonna. He is further survived by 16 Grandchildren and 11 Great-Grandchildren. Further survived by sisters Mary Starman and Janet (David) Miller, sister-in-law Alice Simon, Brother-in-law Roger (Janet) Olinger. Ed was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jerome and George; sister, Roselyn, and brothers-in-law, Glen Starman and Jerry Rysavy; one sister-in-law, Romayne Simon.
