Edward "Ed" Oliveira

I am so sorry to hear of Ed’s passing so late. To his family, we are very sorry for your loss. Ed was a big man in personality and spirit. I learned a lot from him, some of which I did not know until later in life as a student of football. One such thing was character and brand. I made so many mistakes and once in front of him. He taught me a lesson that day.

He and his lessons will forever be engrained in my memory. Rat in peace Ed. You lived a full life and will not be forgotten.

Dana and family, so very sorry for the loss of your dad and mom in such short time. Your dad coached me in football at Montville High School through some very tough "football times" back in the late 60's to early 70's. We started at 0-9, then 5-5, then 7-3, then 8-0-1 (undefeated and one tie (0-0)) under your dad's great leadership and work ethic. I have been lucky enough to have had two great mentors in my life, my father and Ed Oliveira. Some of the best memories of my life were learning the game of football under his watchful eye. My professional life was influenced forever by his willingness to share his wealth of knowledge with an eager to learn kid.

Condolences Mrs Oliveira and Dana. Mister Oliveira was an excellent coach whom I had a great deal of respect for.

Dana, sorry for your loss. Played football for your Dad in the early 70's. But, it was a hearth warming conversion i had with your Dad at the 30th anniversary of the 1970 undefeated season that i will always remember.
