Not sure what to say?

Ed Pearson and I had a long association. I met him first at Virginia State University where he gave greater sparkle to the college's band, the marching Trojans. Our twelve years as co-workers with deaf, blind and other special needs students were evidenced by his dedication to teaching and learning. The field of special education has lost a committed soul and I have lost a special friend.

God bless you all. Ed was such wonderful friend, father and husband. He will be greatly missed. His always inspiring words have help me through a many a trouble times. I love you all and am saddened that I could not be there. I look forward to seeing you all. A great soul has passed to the other side, but we will always have fond memories to cherish. May God keep you and comfort you all for Ed is now at peace.

What a striking figure Pearson cut on the football field as he "took the field". More striking was the wonderful human being he was off the field. To a young freshman, he was an inspiration and the kind of person who made everyone feel important. God Bless you all, and may he rest in peace in the arms of the Father! He is sadly missed.

I was one of legions of VSC student who for us in the 1950's Edward Pearson was an icon! He symbolized for strenth, grace and precision all at the same time. We, who were there had our hearts swell with pride to watch and for many years more in our memories. May light perpetual shine upon him and that he be in perfect peace with his father/mother in paradise.

The manner in which Colonel Pearson led the Marching Trojans across Rogers Stadium and in Parades elsewhere will be long remembered. Whether the Football Trojans won or lost, VSU could always depend on the Marching Trojans and Ed Pearson to pull us through. My sympathy is extended to the entire family.

God bless you, and be with you in your time of sorrow. May he give you strength and hope to meet each new tomorrow.

My sincere sympathy goes out to the Pearson Family. I met Pearson at VA State in 1953. He was an inspiration to all of us. We went to every football game and parade. We just loved to see him lead the VSU Band. Please let He who giveth and He who loves all of us comfort you today and all tomorrows. Physical Education Major,VSU "57
