Not sure what to say?

I only today learned of Ed's passing and want to send my condolences and fond memories to his family. I went to Harper High with Ed, we double dated to the prom and I stayed overnight at his Mom's home. He was one of my very best friends at the time and I regret we lost touch. I worked at Rush while he was a resident there and we got to catch up a little then. I am proud to say he was my friend.

I was very upset and saddended to hear of Dr. Pechter's passing. He was the most kind, considerate, and knowlegable doctor, who had a great dry sense of humor! I was planning on calling him in a few months for some other services, and now I am in total shock! There is just really no one like him.

I fondly remember the trip we took to Florida during spring break (if driving to O'hare crammed into a little Chevy sub-compact with five of your fraternity brothers won't bring you closer, nothing will), and another occasion I had to stay with the Pechters. Mrs. Pechter, if you see this, I just wanted to let you know that I...

To all of Ed's family and friends,

I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Ed's untimely passing. It will be awhile before I will be able to wrap my head around it, and I can only imagine how others much closer to him are feeling. Not only was he tremendously kind, generous, and funny, but I always appreciated how dedicated he was to his daughters, and later to his partner, who I imagine to have the love of his life. This is a great loss to his patients, as well as to his...

To the Family of Dr. Pechter,
I was truly shocked about his early death. He was very caring and full of humor, and a gifted surgeon.
