I was a student of Ed Reed's from 1964 thru 1967. I studied French under him, but beyond that, he was a role model for me, as my own father had died in 1962. I touched base with him now and again. I remember visiting him once at the Fontanelle golf course club house. "Monsieur Reed", as we always called him, made this world, and my life in particular, a better place. God bless his memory.

To Susan and the entire Reed family: Ed was a remarkable human being. I will always treasure my four years as one of his French students at North High. He left an indelible mark on the school and its graduates. Adieu, Monsieur Reed.

Mr. Reedwas one of my favorite teachers even if I was not good in French. I loved his humor and how he never gave up on those of us who were French-challenged.
