I feel like I was one of the folks at UGI who got mentored and challenged by Ed. It was both a blessing a curse to have Ed be the recipient of something that I had written.

A blessing because he made sure you knew that he was paying attention to what you had submitted and that it was important. It made a big difference to me and made me feel more valuable to the company.

Joseph, I couldn't agree more about Ed's unique sense of humor. His gentle sarcasm lightened up all conversations we had when he came with Andrea to the crafts shows. His love for Andrea was so heartwarming. We will all miss him.

Ed and I had a unique relationship. As the media relations manager at UGI, I would often seek Ed's advice and explanation when something unusual happened in the field. Those conversations usually went far and wide. But Ed's point of view could be summed up in something he told me years ago: "You know," he said, "to an engineer, your glass isn't half-full or half-empty. It means you have a glass twice as big as you need."
