Edward G. Robinson, 78, passed peacefully Sunday at home surrounded by family. He was born in Chicopee and has lived in Feeding Hills for 29 years. Ed was a circulation supervisor at the Republican Newspapers until retirement. Ed was a member of the John Boyle O’Reilly Club and the YMCA, where you could find him shooting hoops, he loved basketball and bowling. He served in the National Guard. He leaves wife Dianna (Symington) Robinson, children James Robinson of Westfield, Lori Orton and her husband Verne of Westfield, Sue Ellen Robinson and Tina Robinson both of West Springfield, sister Charlotte Lak and husband Fred of FL, four grandchildren Michael Moreau, Alisha Sullivan, Amanda Orton and Tyler Pierson and three step-children JoAnn Chiaro of Agawam, Donna Chiaro of West Springfield and Christina Chiaro of Stafford Springs, CT. He was predeceased by his parents Harold and Mary Robinson and his brother Stewart Robinson. The funeral will be Saturday at 12 noon at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home followed by burial in Paucatuck Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the funeral on Saturday from 10 am to 12 noon. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104. Dianna and family. I just returned from vacation to hear of Ed's passing. I am deeply sorry for your loss. He was one of the friendliest people I've ever met. God Bless.

I recently learned of Ed's passing. He was my trainer when I began at The Republican. We had a great crew there for many years. Condolences to the family on your loss.
