My deepest sympathy goes to you. I was deeply saddened to hear about Ed's sudden passing.
I had the privilege and honor of meeting Ed a few years ago. I treasure our conversations and his insight and wisdom.
With deepest sympathy,

While I never told him, Ed gave me a powerful example of how one could be a man of the world with a broad business background, yet have a simple faith and attend daily mass and communion at Our Lady of Mercy Church. Thank you Ed.

As a sports-crazed teenager in Philadelphia, I knew Ed (but he didn't know me) by reason of being a passionate fan of Villanova basketball.
I am most fortunate to have met Ed personally later in life. Ed became a good friend and someone whom I enjoyed a lot -- his sudden passing is a shock and I'll miss him.
