Not sure what to say?

Looking up Uncle Ted years after he passed, I found this. He was a big part of my life from birth on, and I loved his wit and warmth! Great man.

Served with him aboard the U.S.S. Towers (DDG-9) in 1962-1963. We were so young, but proud to serve. Glad he mad it all the way to Admiral.

A great American I was proud to know and serve under!

Finest officer with whom I had the privilege to serve, and a true gentleman.
Chief Engineer USS PERSISTENT 1970-1971

Ted was one driven sailor . . . always pushing on the boundaries.

The first time he engaged our company and set up a meeting in DC, he arranged for he and I to stay in the FLAG quarters at the Navy yard. As you all know, he took great pains to impress his targets.

At that time, I had only known Ted a couple of hours, from meetings discussing this new wireless comms technology.

I was in my room no more than 3 minutes when he barges in - I want to make a deal with you...

My deepest sympathy and prayers to all of Ted's family. He was a fine naval officer and superb intelligence professional.
Vice Admiral Thomas R. Wilson, USN (Ret)

I am sorry to learn of Ted's passing. He was a great boss to work for when he was the J2 on the Joint Staff. In particular, I worked closely for him during Operation Just Cause, the US invasion of Panama in December 1989, and have many good memories of his leadership and the daily support we provided to then Chairman, JCS Colin Powell. After his retirement from active duty, Ted remained a friend and colleague, and he graciously hosted my husband and me for a visit to PA a few years back to...

Ted was my deputy at DIA during the critical times of DESERT STORM and invaluable to me. My condolences to his family.

Condolences to the Sheafer Family. I knew Ted well -- in a professional context -- and enjoyed every interaction. He had the passion, drive, intensity, and commitment that we need so badly in our services. I send my final salute.
