Not sure what to say?

Paul, such sad news. Uncle Ed will be dearly missed. I pray you continue to be comforted by the many memories you made together and by the support of family and friends.

Paul
I just now found out that my "unc" has passed. Words cannot express the feeling and flood of memories that are running through my head right now. He was always such an inspiration not only to myself, but Mike, Michael, Mark and Chris. So thougtful, so kind. An icon of the Sims family has gone in body but his spirit will remain in our hearts forever.

What a great friend. I saw him last summer at Panera and we have a lovely visit. I learned more about Life in his America Literature class, about classics I thought I knew, than any other course. He was one of my Husbands favorite professors. He could always trust Ed to give him the honest prospective. He'll be missed by all, but touched many.

Dear Paul,
We are so sorry to hear about the passing of Ed. Even though we are separated by many years and miles, I have always remembered the wonderful times with the both of you. Ed is without a doubt one of the finest gentlemen I have ever met and I know all that knew him will have fond memories.

Our deepest sympathy.

Dear Paul, We are so sorry for your loss. You are in our prayers at this time. Liz and I remember Ed as a kind, humble, and very funny man. We have been proud to have Ed as our neighbor for over 20 years. Peace. Mike and Liz Stevens

Dear Paul,
I am so sorry to hear about Ed. His passing is a huge loss for all of us who knew and loved him, but especially for you, I know. Please know you are in my thoughts. Ed was a wonderful colleague and friend during our many years together on the faculty at Springfield College. I will cherish the many wonderful memories I have from that time. I will miss him!

Paul,
We are so sorry for your loss. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
We will deeply miss Ed, his sense of humor, and his gentle kind soul.
He was always there for us and we will really miss him at our get togethers.

I knew Ed through the annual meetings of the Sport Literature Association (and the exchanges of correspondence in between). He was a kind, gentle man whose great personal distinction and achievements never displaced his humility and his encouragement and support of others. SLA won't be the same without his gracious presence.

Dear Paul,
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Ed. I never met him but I was introduced to him thru you. Your kind, thoughtful, caring words describing him to me were so very touching. I know he was not feeling well for some time - please know he is much better now. Unfortunately the people he left to remember him must try to deal with his passing. PLease know there are many people thinking about you and hoping you are well. Let us know if we can help.
