Edward Michael "Ned" Smith

I was saddened to hear of Ned's passing. Impressions of Ned from our many contacts over 30 years include Honesty, Determination, Integrity, Strength of Character and Devotion to Faith & Family. The Grand Rapids Legal Community is greatly indebted to Ned for his unique contributions of Service, Wise Counsel and Fair-Minded Guidance over the past five decades.

My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Smith family.

Dear Matt, Sue and the entire Smith family, I was so sorry to miss the memorial for Ned. I first met Ned when we sat on opposite sides of the table at GRCC Faculty Association hearings. I have always had a fondness for Ned's demeanor and later got to know Matt and Sue as friends of my daughter Christi and the Pit Stop. There just could not be a greater family to know and my heart goes out to all of you today and everyday. My deepest condolences for your loss of a great man, father and friend...

Sorry to find out (today Nov.14th) that my friend Ned Smith passed away. My condolences to all of Ned's family. I've known Ned since the third grade at St. Joseph's. Thoughts and prayers are with you. Sincerely, Phil (Mullins) Pellerito.

Ned is a very special person. I was fortunate to have worked with him for five years. Always had a smile, a story and a joke to tell. Now heaven has an angel. My prayers go out to family and friends.

As a proud union member, I had the opportunity to work with Ned and witness his caring and passion for people. He will be greatly missed.

Ned was a great friend, a great attorney, he was a great help to the APAGR from 2005 to 2012 when I was Chairperson, he came to my retirement parties and I was at his, he will be dearly missed by me and his family. I am so sorry that I could not be at the visitation and or funeral, my deepest sympathy goes out to Katherine whom I also knew from the firm.
