It is sad to learn of the passing of a kind & gentle person, such that Ed Steffens was. I remember him from my days working in the Undergraduate Admissions Office, but mostly when I was part of the C.A.S.T dept in Packaging Science, where he consistently demonstrated kindness & unlimited patience to all his students.

Ed thank you for being such a great professor, mentor and friend! It meant so much that you always made an effort to keep in touch during the last 20 plus years since graduation. It is an honor to say I was a student of "Professor Steffens"! ..... I know, I know .... "Please call me Ed!" you'd say after graduation but, I never could. Rest in Peace Prof. Steffens and God Bless.

Ed was in my family before I was. He was such a genuine, generous, and good soul. I will greatly miss his laugh.

A sad day indeed. He was always in such a good mood when I was there getting my Master's and subsequent returns to campus. He really loved what he did at RIT!

Ed has passed from this earth, but not from the hearts of those who knew him. Ed had many friend, and to some of us he was a member of our extended family. God bless you Ed, thanks for the 11 wonderful years of friendship we shared!

I will forever remember Eds good nature and wonderful humor. You will be missed Brother.

It is with genuine sadness to learn of Ed's passing. What a sincere pleasure to have known such a kind, caring, and gentle man. He was intelligent, witty, always smiling. We all will miss such a good and decent friend.
