Ed was my step father-in-law. When we first met I had no practical experience deer hunting but he took me out, wrong gun and all, and never said a word. A year later more well equipped I took my first first deer in one of his favorite spots. He lived a life most men can only dream about. 30 years my senior he could still out pace me at 70 through the woods and he was completely impervious to cold. Ed's hunting and fishing ability was only out done by his skill as a wildlife artist.

My deepest sympathy to Jean and other family members. I am fortunate to have had Ed as a friend. His smile and humor were always part of any conversation. Ed was generous with his fine artistic talents and illustrated several professional scientific wildlife publications and books for me. He also helped to develop the artwork for many Michigan DNR Wild Turkey Hunter Cooperator patches. Ed was an avid turkey hunter, bird hunter and fisherman. I was fortunate to have spent time with him...

Ed was a good man and a good friend. He was very talented, and his art work graced two of my books. I knew him for more than 30 years, having met him when he was part-owner of S&K Products (manufacturer of Cannon downriggers)and working closely with him on a book I wrote about fishing with his products. I always enjoyed Ed's company while hunting birds in Michigan and fishing and hunting on several trips to Quebec with our mutual friends Joe Stefanski and Siegfried Gagnon. May he rest in peace.
