I cannot say Eddie and I were buddy buddy, but we were friends in school from first to twelfth grades. We respected one another and I regarded him with esteem. Our last encounter was in May 1969. Enroute to an outdoor rock concert in Pleasant Hill park he picked me up hitchhiking and invited me along. He was helping to organize the event and I helped him in the setup of the concert.
