TRACY, Edward Entered into eternal rest on Thursday, November 9, 2006, Edward Magee Tracy, M.D. 88, the widow of Mary Louise Sheedy Tracy , of Seabrook Island. The relatives and friends of Dr. Edward Magee Tracy, are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 O'Clock Noon, Monday, November 13, 2006, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home 1620 Savannah Hwy. this Sunday evening between 5:00 and 7:00 PM. Edward Magee Tracy was born in Buffalo, NY on Tuesday, July 30, 1918 the son of Edward Murray Tracy and Mary Leonidas Magee Tracy. Dr. Tracy, the son of a physician, was educated in the Jesuit tradition at Canisius High School, where he graduated as valedictorian of his class. Dr. Tracy continued his education at the University of Notre Dame, he went on to receive his medical degree at the University of Buffalo Medical School. Dr. Tracy married the love of his life, Chickie, to whom he was married for 59 years. After serving in the US Army, he entered into private practice, first in Hamburg, NY, and then in Charleston. He practiced medicine for 60 years, devoting his life to his God, family, and patients. Dr. Tracy and his wife were actively engaged in the pre-cana program of the Diocese of Buffalo, establishing The Chair of Pastoral Medicine at St. John Vianney Seminary for the Continuing Education of Priests. Surviving are his children; Ann Tracy Abess and her husband John of Charleston, Sheila M. Buonerba and her husband David of Orchard Park, NY, Edward Magee Tracy, Jr. and his wife Angelynne of Seabrook Island, Mark M. Tracy and his wife Roseann of Charleston, Jeffrey M. Tracy of Atlanta, GA, Arthur T. Tracy and his wife Linda of Rexford, NY, Clotilde T. Shapiro and her husband Seth of Seattle, WA; a daughter in law, Julie T. Tracy of Atlanta, GA; a special family member, Clotilde Camelot Desombre of France; sixteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Arrangements are by the JAMES A.
