As a physics student and later an adjunct lecturer at Hunter College, I knew Ed Tryon well. He had a great sense of humor and gentle cogent way of explaining things. I remember going to hear Alan Guth speak and bumping into Ed there. He was a great dancer and a fixture at the Physics Department Christmas parties.
