Ed wS our Church softball coach and player. I have a lot of great memories of 'BIG ED', as he was k own on the softball field. After softball games several of us players would go to the Ardmore Tap Room for a cold one and some great fellowship. I miss those days. They were a lot of fun. RIP 'BIG ED'....

Ed was wonderful to every single new and long-time player who showed up to play bridge at the Georgia Taylor Center in Winston Salem. He loved the game and was always happy to help people new to the game. It was a special joy to be on his team at the large tournament in Gatlinburg. His shoes are simply too large to fill. My condolences go to his family and many friends. Butter Birkas Mount Pleasant, SC

I am deeply saddened to learn of Ed's passing. My dad, Camet Tompkins, worked with Ed and his father for many years. I also worked with Ed with Sale Vending Co. My thoughts are with the family at this time.

I hated to miss being there to honor my dear friend Ed. We are keeping our grandchildren for the weekend and the babysitter fell through last minute. What a wonderful person Ed was. I feel lucky to have even met such a great guy and truly blessed that he was interested in furthering my love of bridge. I would not be a sliver life master today without Ed. You have my deepest sympathies. Sincerely Leesa Goodson
