Not sure what to say?

Your dad and grandad was a fellow CHS Eagle, Dundee neighbor, a memorable man of letters and friend. Our condolences.

Edward was such an amazing teacher. One of the best I ever had. I transferred to Central from Gross HS and I loved his class and his sense of humor.

I went to a lot of schools due to my life situation, and you´re the only teacher to see me for who I was, not who I acted like. You always made sure I was okay, and stayed late to talk to me. Thank you, Mr. Waples.

He was the coolest English teacher, he had a heart of gold!! I will never forget him!!

I remembered that Mr. Waples would be tough on me, and at the time I didn't like it. Eventually, I realized he did so because he knew I could do better and he actually cared! He's one of the few teachers that I remember. Someone reminder me that he was well known for his practical jokes, in good fun, of course, with another legendary Omaha Central teacher, Mr. Keenan.

Mr. Waples was one of the best teachers I ever had. He was my English teacher at Central High during the '91-'92 school year. His teaching talents and enthusiasm for English literature brought works like "Macbeth", "The Canterbury Tales" and "Beowulf" to life. He made the subject matter interesting. I believe teaching was his calling in life and he lived that out very, very well.

He was honestly the most memorable teacher I´ve ever studied under. I would consider him a dear friend after graduating high school at Plattsmouth. I wish I could have seen him at least once more... To his children, know that he was by far the funniest teacher I have had in my time. Please feel free to reach out to me. I would love to share my stories of him with you.

One of my favorite teachers at Central High, even though he was a young teacher when I had him. His ability to relate to students was an attribute that made him stand out amongst the great teachers at CHS. RIP Mr. Waples.
