Growing up in the late 30s and early 40s was challenging. We were resourceful. I don't remember whose idea it was to build a fort using fence rails a couple of miles from anywhere. But we did it. I can't remember whether it was me or Ned who pulled a girl out of the water. She fell thru the ice at a night scating party. Best tehards to all the family. Is his brother still alive?
