Not sure what to say?

An entry in my diary from March 2019 A couple of months ago Father Tim, our pastor, was not available and so a "visiting priest," said mass. His name is Father Edward F. Weist. Father Weist appeared to be a very humble and faithful priest and you could tell by his presence [some call it a fragrance] that he was very holy. He also appeared very approachable and kind. He shared his personal story with us in his sermon. I cannot repeat the sermon here as I would not do it justice. Maybe...

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always. Playing racket ball at the YMCA

Father Ned was my father's cousin. He officiated over my parents funerals. He visited my father in his last days, he was at every funeral and marriage at some compacity for as long as I can remember. He was a true servant to God. God Bless you Father Ned. The Casselberry Family

I'm so sorry to hear of your passing I remember you when you were a priest at st charles church you knew are family very well All the prayers to you and your family

Hello Family of Fr. Weist, He was a very strong good hearted man who gave us some support through my letters. He was a wonderful priest. Ruth and Joe Ps. Was at our Wedding.

My deepest sympathy to the Weist family at the loss of their dear Ned. I was privileged to be a classmate of Ned´s at St. Christopher´s for 8 years. Our families were friends, and thanks to Ned´s father, Jack, I and many teenagers passed their drivers test thanks to his tutelage. Ned was a very kind and special individual-and the world is a better place for his presence.

So sorry to hear about Ned. A lot of memories between the families. Growing up as kids of policemen, thru St Christopher and RRHS. RIP Ned.

I met Fr. Weist when he was assigned to St. Charles Parish...my mother's good friend Mary was the cook in the parish house...I got reacquainted with him when he was the Pastor at St. Leo's and would pop in occasionally to hear Mass...Rest easy, Fr. Weist...

Fr. Weist, I was honored to have you be the priest who officiated my First Communion. May you rest in God's loving arms.
