Not sure what to say?

I was a young man when I reported to the USS AMERICA CVA=66 in 1969, and was assigned to V3 Division. Mr. Weller was my division officer. From day one we hit it off. Ed noticed my Masonic Ring one day and asked me a few questions and discovered we had a common interest. As time went by he became my mentor for some strange attachment we just hit it off. During our 1970 wespac cruise my work ethic impressed him so that he put me in for the Navy Achievement Medal that I am extremely proud...

Mr. Weller was clearly a mentor to me during my USS AMERICA CVA/CV 66 experience. And more than that he was a friend long after we parted. Think of him often with fondness along with Bev and the girls. Fair winds and following seas may you RIP.

Ed was not only my CO on Hangar Deck of the USS AMERICA 1970 Wespac but he was my best friend. He got me several rides in the back seat of the F4J Phantom. What a ride, I fell in love with that airplane the first launch. He also helped me through my Masonic Rites. What a versatile man. You will be Missed Ed.
