Rest in Peace

Hard to be it´s been a year since you lost Ed. I still visualize running into you, Sheila, and Ed at Harkness or at Waterford beach, and sharing a moment or a proud event in the lives of our children. Sending love.

Ed always had a gift for us in the form of his prodigious knowledge of literature, both ancient and modern. We miss him Judith and Malcolm

I only found out about Mr. Wheeler's passing recently but I was sad to hear it. I never had the fortune of taking a class with Mr. Wheeler, but I had many wonderful discussions with him about literature in the hallways. He was a kind, insightful man. On a side note, this is a wonderful obituary, and kudos to whoever wrote it.

Shelia and Rachel, may your many wonderful memories of Ed keep him close to you. We were sorry to learn of Ed's death. Peace, Margaret and Jerry Holmberg

I was a Novice with Edward at St. Andrew's -On-Hudson and was said when he left but I see God was calling him to another path as a great teacher, husband, father and colleague. He was a delight to be with then. Good memories Rev. John J. Shea, S.J.

Mr. Wheeler´s quiet, understated humor and passion for writing, reading and literature made him an unforgettable man and a true teacher. I will always remember his deep bass singing voice and his quirky humor and imagine him now entertaining those who passed before him with a rousing round of "they was only playin´ leapfrog."

Sending love and heartfelt condolences to Sheila, Rachel, and all who will forever hold fond memories of Ed. For me, he was an influential teacher, a remarkable colleague, and a devoted friend. God bless you, Ed. Rest in peace.
