Not sure what to say?

RIP Sir. We did not know eachother but as a Whelan we have a very long line of Whelan's all over the world. You and all the other Whelan's can have a good chat in Heaven like all the Whelan's like too do.

To a wonderful man with incredible strength!!! and a great family. Ed exemplified solid Mertonian character and I admired him greatly and will always remember him fondly. We will miss Ed tremendously, but our sorrow is softened by knowing our Lord is celebrating Ed's joining Him in heaven. Blessings to the Whelan family. Big Ed was a good man and a friend! It's very sad that we had to lose him so soon. Leona and I sincerely pray that his loved ones will soon find comfort and peace in their own lives. God bless you all!

My condolences to his beautiful family who was fortunate to have such a loving and wonderful person in their lives. My family was fortunate to have met him. May he rest peace.

Mr. Whelan served many wonderful roles in his life; a father figure was one of many. His love for family and friends were undeniably strong and heartfelt. His love wrapped around you like a blanket and smile always made you feel welcome. The virtues of life Mr. Whelan practiced shaped the way I live and raise my children. I carry his lessons (sermons) and wisdom with me. Thank you, Mr. Whelan (Dad).

With Love,
Daniel Schainen

It was a joy to have served at the altar with Ed. I was often inspired by his insiteful homilies.
Knowing that he is now in the joy of his Master that he so faithfully served, I pray will give comfort to Mary and all their family.
May the Lord grant him eternal rest.
