Edward Wright Obituary


Edward M. Wright
Mr. Wright, of Charlotte, a Christian, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, January 22, 2004. Born August 9, 1941 in Gastonia, he was a son of the late James E. and Nannie Evans Wright. Mr. Wright served in the US Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1963. He spent most of his career employed with Home Innovations and retired as Manager of Information Systems in 1998. He coached Optimist League sports teams for several years. Mr. Wright was a member of the Westgate Masonic Lodge #738 and Oasis Temple-Mecklenburg Shrine Club.
A Service to Celebrate the Life of Edward M. Wright will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 26, 2004 at the First Baptist Church of Weddington with The Reverend Bill Fogarty, officiating. A graveside service will follow at 4:00 p.m. in Greenlawn Cemetery of Great Falls. The family will receive friends 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at McEwen Charlotte Chapel.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Jordan Wright; sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Kelly Wright of Charlotte and Rick and Maribeth Wright of Augusta, GA; four grandchildren, Peden, Jordan, Hannah and Cameron; brother and sister-in-law, H.C. and Phyllis Wright of Great Falls; sisters and brothers-in-law, Clara and Buddy Respass of Lancaster and Diane and Tommy Powers of Great Falls; several nieces and nephews; and friends too numerous to count.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 500 East Morehead Street, Suite 211, Charlotte, NC 28202, or to The Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, 950 West Farris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
