Edwin Christian “Chris” Cota, 58, a former Virginia, IL resident, died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2020, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
He was born Dec. 7, 1961, in Mexico, the son of Alberto Antonio Cota and Carol Anne Snow Cota.

Read MoreI am so sorry and shocked to hear about Chris' death. I was able to meet Chris over the past few years when he lived in Macomb at Countryview Care Center. He was very appreciative of receiving communion and praying as I and others delivered him the weekly sacraments. He was always caring and throughtful when I met with him. I send my condolences to his family and pray for the repose of his soul.

I remember watching Chris play football, basketball, and baseball at Virginia High School. He was such a good athlete and though I was younger than him, he was always nice. I ran into him a few years ago when he was working security at a store in Springfield. He was the same friendly guy he had always been. So sad that such a good soul was taken

Tony and Family - I am so sorry for your loss. Chris certainly was a 'light' in many peoples lives. Always a smile for anyone. We all have some great memories of MYF with lots of laughs.
