Edwin Augur Dudley

Ed always searched me out at family gatherings, as he felt I could relate to his intellect and dry sense of humor...he was right.

I had the incredible great fortune to have Mr. Dudley as my math teacher in my sophomore year in high school (Paul was in the class too). I had been struggling with the New Math in junior high school, with teachers who were not able to explain what I didn't understand, and avoided failing for two years only thanks to their magnanimity in inflating my grade to a C- out of pity. I was terrified of math through junior high, and humiliated by how poorly I did, and believed I was stupid. Mr....

I met Edwin Dudley only once, and that was in the company of his wife, Ruth, whom I knew well as my teacher in ACE, a program for aspiring and current directors of religious education. I thought highly of Ruth Dudley,and I see from his obituary, Edwin Dudley had a similar talent for teaching well.

I'm heartened to hear that Ruth Dudley reached her 99th year, and I do wish her my deepest sympathies and personal regard, with love.

God bless our dear friend, Mr. Dudley. The Gould Family has been blessed to have you as one of the major players in our lives.

Our heartfelt condolences to the Dudley family. We shared many joyful times with Ruth and Ed at the cottage in Guilford when visiting Paul and Carol and Owen there. Their kind generosity and hospitality generated many fond memories over the years for us and our children. We embrace you all in this time of sadness ...May "Grandpa Dudley" rest in peace.

Ed Dudley was one of my favorite teachers at North Haven,. A wonderful teacher and even a nicer person. I had him one year, yet remember him well to this day. God speed.
