Edwin Hilton, a native and resident of New Orleans, La passed away on Wednesday September 25, 2024, at the age of 30yrs old.
Loving son of Edward Smith and the late Mary Ann Hilton.
Edwin was Pigeon Town "That 17th" through and through. It wasn’t just a hood to him; it was the place he called home.
He attended St. Paul A.M.E. Church where he was baptized at age 5, and received his formal education through Orleans Parish Public School System (James W.Johnson Elementary, Sarah T Reed High).
No matter what, Edwin always made time for his family and friends. He was a loving
and caring brother who was always there for his siblings whenever they needed him.
Edwin “Head” “Iron Head” “Music” “Twin” had a great sense of humor and knew how to
put a smile on everyone’s face. Edwin had a hug that would make you melt and take
away every care in the world. In his free time Edwin enjoyed playing Dominoes and
Spades where he was very competitive and a trash talker. He was always eager to
show off his skills.
Edwin was preceded in death by his mother Mary Ann Hilton, sister Sade Angel
Johnson, Four aunts, Eight uncles and 4 cousins.
Edwin is survived by his father Edward (Tranecia)Smith. Cherished brother of Dewanda (Bryant),
Edward (Danielle), Jawanda(Nytoga), Joshua(Keshia), Stephanie(Danyel), Floyd, Steve,
Regina(Johnny), Reginald, Olajie, Reginique, and Monisha. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Ebenezer Baptist Church, are all invited to attend his Celebration of Life Service on Saturday October 12th, 2024 at 11:00 am at Ebenezer Baptist Church 2415 S. Claiborne Avenue, New Orleans, La 70125. Interment will be private. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am in the above named church.
Edwin will be deeply missed by all who knew him. E-Dawg! You will forever be in our
hearts and memories.

I am so sorry to hear of Edwin's passing. I worked with him during his middle school years, and we had a special bonding. It is heartbreaking for educators to lose any student, but especially one so young. Rest in Peace, Edwin.
