Edwin Neel "Ned" LeGard Jr.

Our deepest sympathies for Ned's family, and our regrets for losing a great friend. Ned and I spoke on the phone many times over about 18 months, about a nuclear weapons project that affected both of us. He invited my wife and I to his home in Roanoke, for April 2024, and planned to personally give me some related documents that he did not want to lose. However, circumstances beyond his control required that he cancel those plans just prior. My wife and I are sad that we never got to meet him...

Ned was a great friend and we had many discussions about our service in the U.S. Navy. We both served on carriers. We always had fun attending Bernard Marie's annual D-Day dinners in Roanoke. Here is the Navy group at the dinner in 2016. Ned is on the right. My condolences to his family. I will miss him.
