Not sure what to say?

A debt I can never repay...

I found Ed while searching for a flight instructor to explore a career in aviation. Not only did I enjoy that first lesson, Ed started and stoked a fiery passion in me not only for aviation, but for teaching anyone willing to learn... doing it the right way, doing it safe... or not doing it.

Its been 30 years since I started down that road with Ed. I work for a large, worldwide private aviation transportation provider now as an instructor...

Ed Meyer was my flight instructor for IFR in St. Louis in the 1994-1996 timeframe. He was an exceptional human being and taught me many life lessons beyond flying. Ed Meyer was very important to me and I owe him a lot. He was the best teacher I ever had. In more than one sense, he opened up a new dimension for me. Two words: Gentleman and Class.

Oh how my heart breaks for your family right now. Ed, may you rest peacefully my dear. Thank you for being one of the sweetest men in the world. I will miss your smile every Tuesday and you giving me your all knowing grin, or your subtle stare at someone that has annoyed you. So many laughs. I wish I could have hugged you one last time, but prayer will have to do for now.
I pray for your family's peace, strength and comfort during this time.

Oh, what a loss! A wonderful, one-of-a-kind, gentleman has been taken from us.

Ed had many marvelous traits including one I shall never forget. He was the quintessential example of cool, calm, and collected even while restoring order in a busy cockpit in view of an astonished student pilot.

One can easily imagine Ed now soaring at a much higher altitude.
