Ned was a first classman when I was a plebe in the USNA 8th Company. I remember him as a gymnast, who helped us plebes build character by doing one handed pushups while we used both hands during nightly come-arounds to his room after evening meal, usually brought on by our inability to remember all the stuff we were supposed to remember at the dinner table. Ned was a great American and I am fortunate to have been his friend. I so throughly enjoyed waterfowl hunting with him and chit chatting about Naval Aviation and the prospects for a good duck hunt. He was fun to be around!
On behalf of Ducks Unlimited Maryland and the Annapolis chapter in particular, our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to Donna and Ned's extended family.
America has lost a true hero and patriot.

We are richer for having known Ned. A loyal Maison Centrale shipmate, USNA neighbor, mentor to my sons, competitive sailor and Naval Aviator. USNA was blessed to have him so close and involved. Fair winds and following seas.
