Not sure what to say?

Dear Gwen & Family,

Carlos and I were sorry we couldn't be at the funeral. You will never know the influence Ned had on me as a young "Idaho farm girl" who came to the big city for the first time. The years I spent as his secretary were such fun, learning years, and his influence was so great in my life. Then to have the privilege of knowing most of your family and working so many years with Ted have been fulfilling experiences for us. He is and was a great, great man. As we...

Ned Winder was the dynamic "interim" mission president we needed out in the Micronesia-Guam Mission. I loved working with him and found out a lot about laughing and having fun. Truly, some of my fondest memories in my 44 years is when he & Gwen (and "baby" Nancy) filled in while our permanent mission president was recovering from open-heart surgery. He (and they) cheered us up, helped us square up our shoulders, and get us back on track. Ned was - and still is! - a great man.

Brother Winder married us in the Salt Lake Temple. He gave us a gift, along with a hand written note. Even though he was funny and made the ceremony so special, you could feel his dedication to his beliefs about the covenants he was presiding over. Brother Winder is a powerful advocate for the Lord. God bless and keep you as you deal with the seperation from this great man.

I first met Bro. Winder over 30 years ago while working for the LDS Church. I was sitting at a little table by myself having lunch. A man walked over and sat down and struck up a conversation with me. I thought, "Who IS this guy?" I soon found out. What a kind, friendly and genuine man. I have brought my children to the Winder Dairy since they were tiny and Christmas scones and hot chocolate are now a tradition. We love to drive down Winder Lane and see all the lights. Ned talked with...

Ned Winder, taken August 27, 2005

Dear Ned Winder Family,

I have long enjoyed hearing Ned Winder's voice at beginning of the Days of '47 Parade in Salt Lake. He truly did have a great sense of Humor. I was present when he sealed one of my friends in the Salt Lake Temple, and I knew that I wanted him to seal me to my wife. My wife had a broken foot when we got married, and he had some sweet, funny, and memorable comments for us. He helped us to have a very nice and very memorable day. As a family we went to...

To the Winder Family:

Thank you so very much for the service of your wonderful husband and father.

I first met Brother Winder while attending the University of Utah. Once a month our singles stake would be assigned to do sealing sessions early on Saturday mornings in the Salt Lake Temple. Those who got there early were blessed to do a session with Brother Ned.

I can only imagine that Brother Winder has probably performed more marriages and sealings than any...

Sister Winder,
We have never met, however, your husband performed the sealing ceremony August 2, 2005 for my oldest daughter. She was thrilled as he so warmly greeted her and helped her feel at ease with her inexperience in the temple. She had passed him in the hallway as he was handing out "breakfast" (candies) to other temple workers before she met him. He has a way of making the temple sealing ceremony such a joyful and wonderful occasion. I have been privileged to be able to...
