EILEEN LAMBDEN BEST

Dr. Best was my boss at the Office for the Aging in Poughkeepsie, NY. I went to her once to report that I had lost my temper and scolded a fellow employee. I was afraid she would fire me for so doing. Instead, she told me I was allowed to do that once a year only! She was a lovely person. I cherish her memory.

Rest in technicolor dear Teacher! She was Sister Georgemarie to me, and she memorably told us in class one day, "Change is the only thing you can ever count on." We loved it that she chewed gum in class! Feisty rule breaker! But she told us to read a newspaper every day and know what was happening in the world. We did. What a wonderful mentor and teacher. Thank you!

I treasure my beautiful memories of Eileen. She was wonderful inspiration in my life and helped me find my way to a life of service and commitment to our good God. May she Rest In Peace. My sympathy to all who loved her and will miss her daily presence in their lives.

Aunt Eileen, I miss you so much. Your memory will inspire us always.
