SO many fond memories! She was cherished by her family and friends alike. She was a great friend to my Mom. (My Dad often referred to her as Saint Eileen!) My childhood memories include lots of fun adventure on Fairview Ave. & Berkeley Ave. As full and bustling as your homes were, an extra guest was always warmly welcomed. I wish I could be there to give you all a hug - Praying for your extended family as you gather to honor her.

Eileen Callaghan was a treasure. And growing up with the Callaghans enriched the lives of all of the Mortensons. Our memories go back to Fairview Ave. in Orange, to Berkeley Ave., and to West Orange. We were blessed to know her, and all of the great Callaghan siblings. And my own Mom, Helen, would not have survived raising the eight of us if it weren't for her friendship with her beloved Eileen. Hope they are getting reacquainted right now.

Who can count the floors she scrubbed, the dinners she cooked, the birthday gifts she wrapped, the spelling words she listened to, the bedtime stories she read, the excuses she heard or the prayers she whispered to God each day? She was your Mother. And life will never be the same without her. But mourn not too long that she is gone...celebrate forever that she was! Be ever grateful... because she was yours. Thinking of you! So very sorry for your loss. Eileen was one of the most kind considered and joyful persons I have had the pleasure of knowing. We are in Florida for my son Stephen' s wedding and can not express our condolences in person.
