Not sure what to say?

Dear Dot and family,

I just learned of Eileen's death today. I wanted to let you know that I am thinking of you. My mother, Margaret Fenner, thought so much of Eileen and truly enjoyed working on the family history and the early stages of the museum. I have numerous pictures of them together as young ladies. I know the whole community will miss Eileen. Sincerely, Barbara Greene

My deepest condolences to the family in this your time of sorrow. May God Richly Bless each of you.

Lynn, We had "lost" your mother two Christmases ago, but wrote to her when i saw the wonderful article in The State. I sent news of the neighborhood and of Elsie and me. She answered on March 17 herself and i would not take anything for having written to her right away! She was one-of-a-kind!

I remember Aunt Eileen as always doing something good, and wearing that big emerald ring, which she had made from a stone she found along the railroad tracks. I was so pleased when she turned the old country store into the Hiddenite Center, and when she saved the Lucas Mansion from decay. I shall continue to miss her at the Lackey family reunions, as I have the past two years.

Shirley, Keith, Lynn:
I have many fond memories of all of you. I read the article in the magazine last month.
The days of our youth at Maple Springs were special.

God Bless. James Hunter

To Lynn Sharpe Hill and Family:
It is hard to express in words how one feels after hearing about the lost of a special love one as Mrs. Sharpe. I know firsthand how wonderful Mrs. Sharpe was and how much she loved her family and the employees of Pilot Freight Carriers. She and Mr. Sharpe not only provided an exceptionally grand working environment, they also provided a home away from home. My condolences go out to all of you.

I didn't know this lady, but she was truly an exceptional human being.

Our deepest sympathies go to Shirley, Keith & Lynne. As a former employee of Pilot Freight Carriers, I have many fond memories of Mr. and Mrs. Sharpe both at work and at the various transportation functions we attended.
