Elaine Theresa Bannick, age 70, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2024, at her home in Bad Axe. Elaine was born on June 18, 1954, to the late Ben and Theresa (Koroleski) Rice.
Elaine was known for her loving, caring, and thoughtful nature, qualities that endeared her to all who knew her. She graduated in 1972 from North Huron High School in Kinde. She married her soul-mate, Wayne Bannick in 1974, and together they shared 50 blissful years.
Elaine devoted much of her life to her family as a stay-at-home mother until entering the work force. Elaine dedicated 16 years of her career to the Huron Medical Care Facility where she worked as a Supervisor. She then joined Aaro Company in 2008, where she continued to contribute her talents until her retirement in 2018.
Her personal life was filled with joyous activities including visits to the casino with her husband Wayne and their friends. Elaine loved thrifting, exploring Amish markets, garage sales, and road hunting for deer. Tending to her flowers and spending time with her grandchildren brought her immense joy.
Elaine leaves behind a loving family; her beloved husband Wayne, her sons, Scott (Heidi) Bannick and Jesse (Jame) Bannick; siblings, Debbie (Leon) Jakubowski, Dennis Rice, Marie (Hilary) Cook, Karen (Jeff) Rice, Alger (Elaine) Rice and Ron (Sharon) Rice; loving grandchildren Cody, Caden, Braelyn and Braxton Bannick; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Theresa and Ben Rice and brothers; Raymond and Eugene Rice.
Greatly missed by her family and friends, Elaine’s life and legacy will be remembered as one of kindness and dedication, touching the lives of many.
A memorial will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024, at MacAlpine Funeral Home in Bad Axe at 1:00 with Pastor Lueke officiating.
Visitation will be from 11 AM until 1:00 at MacAlpine Funeral Home, with the memorial service to follow.
Cremation has taken place at Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City.
Memorials may be offered to the family discretionary fund c/o of Wayne.
