Elaine Bennett

Elaine was a great teacher, leader and friend. I enjoyed Elaine leadership, guidance and support as a teacher in the Mason City Area. She taught much, shared insights and supported many area educators. I will always remember with her help I was able to help a disabled student acquire a portable laptop with the Elaine´s support and the Eastern Star.

What a wonderful woman and friend. I first met her when she was working at Clear Lake AEA. She was a very knowledgeable educator and my husband and I took some of her classes and had the privilege to work with her through our school. She will be missed. May she rest in peace.

I first met Elaine about the age of 15 when she was around 25. Her first husband, R. Hixon, was my scout leader and we held some Boy Scout meetings at their home. It was then that I by chance mentioned that I was attending Greek School at the local Greek Orthodox church. Elaine encouraged me to stop by Harry's Sweet Shop and speak Greek to her father, Harry.
