I came to know Elaine as a member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church, in Fairbanks, probably around 2015 or 2016. I would stop by her house in Hamilton Acres and chat with Elaine and Charlie the cat, while picking up her donation to the church. The house was spacious, beautifully furnished, and spotless with a generous yard which we would admire from the kitchen. Charlie was quite the housemate, always joining our visit.
