Elaine passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2016. Elaine was a resident of Providence, Rhode Island at the time of her passing. She obtained a PhD in linguistics from Brown University in 1972. She was married to Bill. There will be a memorial service on Friday at 12:00 noon in the Redwood Chapel of Swan Point Cemetery 585 Blackstone Blvd. Providence. In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be made to the Providence Animal Rescue League 34 Elbow Street Providence RI 02903. Shiva will be observed at 68 Locust St. Providence on Friday from 3-7 and Sunday from 2-4 p.m.
Wow. I followed (as much as I had time to) Elaine's "SmartHotOldLady" blog, kind of lost touch when she migrated to a different blog platform. I hadn't realized she passed over a year ago! I'll miss not being able to tune in to her wisdom and her humor.

To Bill, Eric and Danny, I am so sorry for your loss. You have always been good to me and my family and I can't thank you enough. Elaine and I shared many conversations and she was always an inspiration to me as a young mother. I am so sorry to just learn of her passing.
