Elaine Gehrke, 49, of Sioux Falls lost her battle with cancer.  She passed away under the compassionate care of Ava’s House Hospice on February 29, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Elaine Fahy was born July 12, 1974, in Sioux Falls.  She graduated from Brandon Valley High School in 1993.

In her spare time, Elaine loved spending time with her family, gardening and working outside.  She would always find some kind of unique or out of the ordinary outdoor projects.  She also liked to cook and try new recipes and dishes.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Chris Gehrke; her two sons, Devin Gehrke (Kayla Horst) and Cameron Gehrke; sisters, Julie, Susan, Mary Ann and Billie Jo; many nieces and nephews, family and friends.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Marjorie and William Fahy, her father-in-law, Roger Gehrke, her grandparents, her niece, Christina McIntosh and her nephew Kendall Kermode.

All are invited to attend her fellowship immediately following the funeral service.
