Latting, Elaine 6/9/1928 - 4/13/2021 Davison, Michigan CELEBRATION OF A LIFE 6/9/1928 - 4/13/2021 Elaine Mildred Latting, 92 of Davison Michigan, passed into rest after a short battle with Covid, complicated by pneumonia. To the end, she remained active in the family and in her church. Elaine was preceded in passing by her husband of 57 years, Richard Lawrence Latting I, and her daughter Beth E. Francisco and son Mark Thomas Latting. She is survived by her son Richard "Rick" Latting II, and daughters Gayle Klatt, and Judy Latting. "Grandma E" also leaves grandchildren, Sean Francisco of Florence Arizona, Melissa Klatt Wills, Sergeant Major Andrew R Klatt USMC, Janet Hinton, Richard Latting III, Terence Latting, their respective children, and one great great grandchild. Elaine partnered with her husband Richard "Dick" Latting to build a pharmacy and later a successful real estate career in which they were true partners, helping many members of Flint, Michigan realize their dreams of home ownership. People will remember Elaine as smart, funny, strong willed, and moving ninety miles an hour. "Get up and get moving!" she often said which contributed to her long and vital life. She was an extraordinary woman for her time having raised children while building a successful business and career, and having seen the Great Depression, the rise of Flint Michigan into a manufacturing powerhouse, World War II, and the first men on the moon. Though she will be missed by the generations she leaves behind, please celebrate her life rather than mourn her passing. In lieu of flowers, take a moment to smile and remember Elaine if she touched your life. Hansen Funeral Home Davison

Not sure what to say?

Grandma,

You and Grandpa were the peace in the storm when I was growing up. Time never seemed to touch you, and I never thought there would be a world without you in it. You might be gone, but you won't be forgotten.

I remember when I was little and told you I was afraid of the dark and you told me "Don't be afraid of the dark, because the dark is afraid of your grandma!", and I was never afraid of the dark again...and I passed that along to Rachael when she was afraid...

Thank you for sharing these pictures. Elaine was a special lady. If we greeted each other at church, it goes without saying that it had to include a hug. I loved her wry sense of humor and her ability to "tell it like it is." May God comfort her family and friends. We are going to miss her.

For many years she was in charge of the jewelry room at our Attic Treasures sale and did a bang up job! She was a quiet private person and I enjoyed being in her company. Will miss her.

I so enjoyed many conversations with Elaine and appreciated her vigor. She is deeply missed by many residents of our apartment community.

Elaine was always such a joy to be around. Very delightful lady. I've known her from here at braidwood. Always seemed chearful. She will be greatly missed here. R.I.P. you've earned your wings. Prayers to the family.

Elaine will be dearly missed by the staff here at Braidwood Manor. Our thoughts and prayers for her family and friends. Elaine loved to do the dishes in our community room and made sure everyone knew the correct way to load the dishwasher. :) God's speed Elaine.

In 1987 we met Elaine. She sold us our house. To our delight she later started attending church and our Sunday School class. She was usually quiet but would every once in a while put in her 2 cents and we all loved her for her wit and quick humor! We will truly miss her.

Mom never gave up and never slowed down until recently. Even then she could leave me in the dust. I would turn around to assist her and realize she was 10 feet past me. She always knew when it was time to give something up and her kids never had to tell her “you really shouldn’t be driving” or “you really should be using a walker.” She knew before we did and just did it. I love you mom, and I’ll miss you ❤❤❤
