Elaine Simmonite Obituary

SIMMONITE, ELAINE, of Miami, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2017. Born in Statesville, N.C. on December 6, 1924 to R.T. and Effie Thomas, Elaine moved to Miami, Florida in 1960 where she met the love of her life, John Simmonite. They married in 1963, and in 1967 they were blessed with the birth of their only child, Robert Simmonite II. They shared a happy and joyful life together until John's passing in 2007. Elaine was a vibrant and effervescent woman, forever the fiery Southern "Belle of the Ball", and in the immortal words of her favorite character, always held steadfastly to the fervent hope that, "Tomorrow is another day!" She is survived by son Robert and daughter-in-law Ruth. Services will be held on Wednesday, July 19th 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at Caballero Rivero, 3344 S.W. 8th St, with burial following immediately thereafter at Woodlawn Park North.
